The Louisiana Edible Creation Center is a 5,000 square foot shared kitchen facility where food entrepreneurs can rent kitchen space hourly to produce and package food products. Tenants pay hourly fees for the use of the facility and additional rates for use of storage. The kitchen is equipment with commercial equipment such as fry masters, 3 walk in coolers and a walk in freezer, steam kettle, ice machine, grills, steamers and meat slicer.

The LECC is approved by the La. Dept. of Health and meets all the requirements for the La. Food and Drug Administration.

The Louisiana Edible Creations Center offers its tenants:

  • The opportunity to utilize a state of the art, fully approved kitchen to develop a food product for commercial resale.

  • A low cost rent that allows tenants to grow their small business paying only for the time and space that they use.

  • Synergy with other food entrepreneurs who occupy the kitchen, sharing ideas and resources with each other.

  • The opportunities for existing small businesses to take on contracts that help expand their capabilities.

  • Consulting services available to tenants on various issues regarding starting a business including LSU Food Science Center and the LSU Business Incubator.

  • Utilities packaging equipment to enable them to package their finished product.

  • A network of resources and support on how to proceed with their business plan.

  • Access to a conference room and library of resource books on the subject of growing your business.
